About Green Meadows

Our Mission

Local action on climate crisis.

We're building a community that can tackle the climate crisis together, starting with The Meadows. Through a people centred approach, we're providing the knowledge, tools and support needed to build momentum. To make lasting change, we're empowering, energising individuals and investing in their ideas.

Our Values

Engagement

By being approachable and welcoming, we build positive relationships with the variety of communities and cultures present within The Meadows. We ensure accessibility within our activities so that everyone can get involved.

Creativity

We strive to stimulate the creativity of The Meadows residents by being creative in not only our engagement and approaches, but also our agile and responsive problem solving.

Learning

Recognising the value and knowledge already present in the Meadows community, we strive for mutual sharing of knowledge and expertise so that new ideas, skillsets and ways of living can be discovered.

Resilience

We empower the inner drive of the community to make a change while nurturing wellbeing in the face of the Climate Crisis. Together, this builds resilience within the community to carry our vision on beyond Green Meadows.

Environment

We respect and care for our home in The Meadows, and the Earth and therefore consider sustainability in each activity we do, ensuring that our work has a positive and lasting impact. We contribute to Nottingham City Council's 2028 net zero target.

Positivity

We are proud about the part we play combatting the Climate Crisis and in our work, we focus on the future and the positive change we can make together, today.

Our Story

The Green Meadows was born out of the pockets of activity and action already led by motivated individuals and groups within The Meadows, Nottingham. Our team wanted to further support the community, ensure that other communities and age groups of The Meadows are also engaged, and support those who may face barriers such as affordability and knowledge on how to make a difference on such a huge global issue. We hope that our project will lead the way for other communities, and that our efforts are at the forefront of Nottingham City’s pledge to be a Net Zero Carbon City by 2028.

The Green Meadows project has been over a year in the writing and planning stage, and we’re pleased to finally be in a place to involve you, The Meadows community. We would love to hear your ideas - you can get in touch with us to share these via our online contact form or by calling 0115 718 2028.
