Build a Crate Planter Workshop

  • NEP Climate Hub 32 Turney Street Nottingham, England, NG2 2LG United Kingdom (map)

In this free workshop we're turning old bale arm crates into planters for your backyard or your street!

Add some colour, wildlife and a place to grow fruit and veg to your home or neighbourhood.

Green Meadows and FROMTHEGROUNDUP are running a series of FREE workshops where you'll learn how to build a water-retaining planter. This new project will help to:

  • Reduce flooding by absorbing rainwater

  • Provide a water supply for plants during dry spells

  • Create local places to grow fruit, veg and plants

  • Bring some colour and wildlife onto the streets!

Planters will be installed on streets and available for personal use around The Meadows.

In this this workshop, you will learn how to turn crates into planters which can hold up to 30 litres - providing water for plants and saving it for use during dry periods.

We will build them and then plant them up, ready to go in backyards or areas of your choice. Once the planters are complete, we can arrange it to be delivered to you.

Imagine this…

These planters brimming with colourful fruit and veg, capturing water and providing easily accessible food!
