‘Build a spongy planter’ workshop: Meadows Climate Resilience Tools

  • Climate Hub 32 Turney Street Nottingham, NG2 2LG (map)

We are looking for teenagers aged 16-18 to join FROMTHEGROUNDUP for two build-a-planter sessions - dates to be confirmed.

As part of the initiative to provide The Meadows with Climate Resilience Tools, FROMTHEGROUNDUP will be designing and building water-retaining planters, aiming to make The Meadows more spongy, absorbing rainwater and reducing flooding, and therefore water resilient whilst increasing biodiversity and providing food. These will be installed on streets and available for personal use around The Meadows.

The sessions will take place at the Climate Hub. We will be testing out design ideas by building prototype planters together. All tools and equipment, as well as refreshments, will be provided.

We have 6 spaces and it will be on a first come first serve basis.

If you know any 16-18 year olds that would be interested in learning resilience skills, contributing to their community, gaining DIY skills & more, let them know about the project! You must be ages 16-18 to attend, so please have an adult sign up on your behalf if under 18.

We look forward to working with you to help shape a climate resilient future for the Meadows!

Please register your interest here and we will be in touch about upcoming dates
