This is a private event open to members of the Green Meadows Group .
Are you interested in co-housing? Always wanted to see inside of an eco house? curious about sustainable living? This event is perfect for you!
Hockerton Housing Project is a community of sustainable homes that have been lived in for over 24 years. Residents of the five houses generate their own clean electrical energy. They also grow most of their own food, harvest and treat their own water and recycle waste materials.
Join one of the small group tours, which are led by a resident of the project to give you a personal view on what it’s like to live in this sustainable co-housing project, which is now in its 22nd year.
There is a £2 refundable charge for this tour, you will receive your deposit back if you attend the event.
This tour includes a guided walk around the site to learn about our food, water and renewable energy systems, a tour of one of the homes, and a talk on the challenges faced during the build, and subsequent development, of the project.
We will be going on a minibus, leaving at 10:30 from the Meadows Library and you will receive a FREE lunch.
It is ideal for those wanting to find out more about sustainability in the home and local communities.
