Green Meadows are back to show you more examples of environmentally friendly home improvements and innovative retrofit approaches across Nottingham.
In this latest instalment, we visit one of the Meadows' "eco houses", which has been constructed in two phases, completed in 2015.
When & Where: We'll meet at the Meadows Library (11am, Saturday 21 June) and walk the short distance to the house. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours
The eco house was designed to meet the "A" rating Energy Performance Certificate criteria at the time, and during the tour we'll provide an outline of the specification that was chosen to meet that requirement.
The main focus will be a tour of the home and a presentation by the homeowner. The homeowner will delve into the journey of planning and installing a heat pump, along with their firsthand experience of living with this innovative technology.
This is the first heat pump installed in a house within the development and it is a significant step forward.
The tour will include a view of the heat pump (located in the garden of the house) and also the hot water system and tank which are energised by the heat pump.
If you want to read an article on the house before the visit, here’s a link.
