The Bridges Project based at Bridgeway Hall want to set up a Community Fridge with the support of the Green Meadows Ideas Fund.
Meet us at the Cosy Café on Tuesday 29th of April to see the space where the community fridge will be and discuss how this project could work best for you and the local community.
11am, Bridgeway Hall
What is a Community Fridge?
“A community fridge is a space that brings people together to share food, meet up, learn new skills and prevent fresh food from going to waste. They’re open to all and anyone can share or take food, including surplus from supermarkets, local food businesses, producers, households and gardens. Fridges are run by community groups in shared spaces such as schools, community centres and shops. There are over 700 fridges across the UK.”

Who can donate to a community fridge?
Anyone!
Donate excess fruit from trees in your garden, produce from your allotment or in date produce you accidentally overbought or don’t plan to use.
Who can take produce from a community fridge?
Anyone!
Reduce the cost of weekly food shops without giving up good fresh produce, eat more locally sourced food, and reduce your environmental impact by sharing food with your neighbours.
