Solid Wall Insulation - Sat 11th February

We believe everyone should be able to learn the skills to make energy saving measures at home.

This is one of 3 practical workshops that will take place at the Green Meadows Climate Hub, a brand-new space in the Meadows designed for workshop attendees to get a true experience of installing energy saving measures, gaining the skills and confidence to install them at home.

All tools and materials will be provided.

Outline

  • The difference between DIY and professional installations

  • External Wall Insulation

  • Spotting poor practice with External Wall Insulation

  • Internal vs External Wall Insulation

  • Managing risks

  • Adapting the building

This workshop is part of the Future-Fit practical skills workshops. The courses don't need to be done in order. However, to make the most out of this workshop, we recommend attending the online courses: 'Introduction to heat-loss in buildings' and 'Introduction to leakage and air-tightness in buildings'.

Green Meadows is working with local people to build a community, through practical learning, training and advice, to act together on climate change. If you'd like out find out more about the project, visit greenmeadows.uk, or contact us on 0115 718 2028.
