Local action on climate change

Who are we?

We’re Green Meadows - a newly launched local programme helping you, The Meadows community to take local action on Climate Change. Through our work, we want to help The Meadows to build a community that can tackle Climate Change together and have a positive and long-lasting impact on our neighbourhood (and our planet) over the next 5 years.

Community Learning

From lessons in our local Primary Schools, to monthly open-to-all workshops on a range of topics chosen by you, for the entire community, there are plenty of opportunities to get inspired, find your voice and form your own thinking around the topic of Climate Crisis.

Climate Champions

We are looking for Climate Champions to support us with community engagement, and to learn what it takes to build a movement and run effective campaigns. We’ll help you with training opportunities, followed by further learning and community support from our team.

Ideas Fund

We are conscious that we don’t have all the answers, and that you know what is important and impactful within The Meadows. The Ideas Fund will open annually for small and large Meadows groups to bring their ideas to life. Each year, up to 6 projects will receive funding up to £2,000.

Future Homes Projects

Green Homes Skills Training

Learn skills in low carbon retrofit for your home, and join street teams to help others. The training topics will range from entry-level energy saving DIY retrofit skills, such as draught proofing, or insulating pipes and water tanks, to more intermediate processes such as insulation of walls, loft and floors.

Meadows Energy Audit

To work out the best ways to save energy, we need to understand how we use and lose energy in our homes. We will be inviting the Meadows community to share information about their energy use to help us build an interactive web application, with tailored advice to help every resident save energy and money, while creating more comfortable homes.
