Earth Day 2022 at Green Meadows

Last Friday, as the sun was shining, we celebrated Earth Day 2022 with you, right here in the heart of The Meadows.

The fun kicked off at 3pm down at The Pavilion, just in time for students at Welbeck Primary School to drop by with their parents and other members of the community.

They were greeted by a delicious selection of vegan baked goodies courtesy of Green Meadows staff, alongside a well earned cup of tea for the grown-ups!

The main event was our Make your own Earth Day fabric patch! Here, our Community Engagement Officer Heather showed how making art doesn’t need to be expensive by recycling old items into printing blocks.

Old scraps of cardboard, jars, bottle tops and more were fashioned into artistic tools that would have otherwise ended up as rubbish!

If you’d like to know how to make one yourself, you can view our how-to-guide here.

Earth Day is all about creating positive action for our planet, and these workshops highlighted how easy being planet-friendly can be.

Take a look at the gallery below to see what we got up to, as well as some of the amazing designs you came up with!

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that came along, and to our wonderful staff for hosting.
